We launched our new product line at the World Hydrogen Summit. Here’s what people liked about it.

This year’s World Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam was a big moment for Solhyd. Not only did our CEO receive a World Hydrogen Award, we also unveiled our brand-new SM500 product, and the response was beyond encouraging.

Our booth became a buzzing stop for curious engineers, policymakers and business leaders alike. What they saw? A radically simplified, scalable and future-proof solution for producing green hydrogen.

The SM500: simplicity by design

The new SM500 module delivers up to 500 watt of solar-driven hydrogen production, without the need for a balance of plant (BOP). That means:

  • No pumps

  • No water supply

  • No cooling

  • No high voltage transformers

While other solutions are trying to incrementally improve their complex balance of plant, we change the paradigm by leaving them out altogether.

This translates to lower capex, lower opex, and lower risk. A bold simplification – and one that clearly resonated with the Summit audience.

From sunlight to hydrogen — with no detours

People were especially intrigued by our embedded solar concept. Our technology goes straight from sunlight to hydrogen, avoiding the detours of grid connection, inverters, rectifiers, and all the red tape around additionality and PPAs.

With solar as the cheapest energy source in the world, this shortcut makes all the difference. It slashes costs, boosts efficiency, and reduces project complexity.

Start small. Scale smart.

Many of our conversations circled around how easy it is to get started with Solhyd. You can test and learn at small scales — and then scale up without surprises. Our standardized, modular setup makes a 1 MW project nearly identical to a 100 MW setup.

That flexibility extends to integration: a 1 MW installation with Solhyd modules can easily plug into a 20 MW electrolyzer project without changing the downstream setup.

Input power at the lowest cost

And while our modules shine with solar, they don’t depend on it. You can feed them electricity from other sources too. Thanks to its flexibility, the technology can use additional sources of electricity when the costs are at their lowest. That makes Solhyd technology a versatile asset — ideal for hybrid systems that include renewables, batteries and grid access.

It also unlocks new revenue models for utility-scale solar developers. In markets with negative electricity prices or grid congestion, Solhyd creates a direct route from electrons to molecules — helping them make hydrogen instead of dumping power.

Long-term thinking, built in

People also appreciated our low-risk, low-impact design. No PFAS. No scarce materials. No reliance on grid infrastructure or critical hardware such as high voltage transformers. Just thoughtful engineering that minimizes dependencies and project delays.

And perhaps most rewarding: many visitors told us they’ve been following us for years — some since the very beginning. They’ve seen us grow, evolve, and deliver on our promises. In today’s hydrogen market, that consistency makes an impression.
